An Ent, not a tree!

It’s a very long way to swim across the lake, I found a little island to stop off at on the way but it was full of those tomb-robbers so not a very nice place to stop for a picnic.  Over the other side I found a couple of elves and a giant tree thing that’s got arms and legs and everything.  I had a bit of an explore, there doesn’t seem to be any ruins this side of the lake but there are these strange men things that wear wolf skins and throw spears at hobbits just going around minding their own business and trying to do some mining.  I helped the elf redecorate some of their totem poles after that.

It’s really beautiful here in Evendim, not as beautiful as the Shire but the nicest long-leg area I’ve seen.  We saw lots of ruins on the way to Tinnudir but we couldn’t stop to investigate them as we were being chased by wolves at the time.  Krispli says that there are lots of bandit types here attracted by all the tombs and the treasures they think they can find there.

I reckon there might be lots of errands a hobbit could run here.  I still need plenty of coin before I can afford a pony of my own.

‘The rangers seem to spend all their time trying to get rid of these bandits so as I thought they have loads of errands that they need running, and I can help them against these tomb robbers as I’m getting very good with my bow now.  Krispli gave me a map of the area with some interesting places to visit marked on it.

One of the rangers asked me to take a message to a fellow long-leg in Rivendell of all places, it’s a very long way from here though.

Luckily Krispli came to find me this evening to tell me that he was off to visit Eleangil at Rivendell so I told him that as I had to go there myself then I may as well travel with him some more.  He seemed ever so happy to hear that news he put his head in his hands and muttered something about ‘bloomin hobbits’, I think it’s a dwarven thing.
